Physiognomy: Foot Analysis

In our country's physiognomy, many people discuss face and palmistry. However, the discussion on "foot appearance" is very limited. The foot mentioned here refers to the human foot, which is mainly composed of three parts: tarsus (instep), plantar (sole) and toes. The following will explore these three units.

1. Instep

Physiognomist Wei Qianli said: "The instep should be thick and fleshy." Only those with thick and round insteps, without visible tendons or bones, can enjoy wealth and honor. 2. Toes

In terms of the five elements, from the big toe to the little toe, they are earth, wood, fire, metal, and water. So how do you observe your toes? "Shen Xiang Shui Jing Ji" said: "Those with slender and long toes are loyal, noble and prominent, and those with even and straight toes are heroic and virtuous." It can be seen that the conditions for having good toes are first and foremost slender and even. Another thing to note is that round and long toes indicate that the person will have sufficient food and clothing and a bright future; if the toes are very pointed and thin, it implies that the person will wander throughout his life and will not be able to save money.

3. Soles

Almost all photo books and notes focus on this point. The soles of the feet should be empty and delicate. The emptiness here means that the two ends are high and the middle is low. Whether it is the hand or the foot, the center part of the palm is called "Mingtang". The Mingtang should be concave or sunken, representing being surrounded by mountains and endless blessings. If it is as flat as an airport runway, it is commonly known as "flat feet". The person is not good at climbing mountains or wading through water, and cannot walk fast or race. Most of them are mediocre. If it is concave and sunken, and can accommodate a turtle (that is, a small turtle), according to the "Complete Book of Divine Physiognomy", it actually means "the one whose feet can accommodate a turtle will be rich and noble, and his master will be awarded the title of a duke or a nobleman", which is simply invaluable.

As for the lines and moles on the soles of the feet, generally speaking, the lines on the soles of the feet are like Han Xin selecting his soldiers - "the more the better." The more vertical lines there are, the more noble the person is; the more horizontal lines there are, the richer the person is. "Shui Jing Ji" said: "If there are patterns on the soles of the feet, the descendants will be prosperous." On the contrary, "those without patterns (commonly known as coffin boards, a lowly appearance) are of lowly status." Moreover, the longer the lines are, the better, because "a person with long lines under his feet will be a noble man" (see "Complete Collection of Divine Physiognomy"). In addition to the vertical and horizontal patterns on the soles of the feet, there are also tortoise patterns, bird patterns, beautiful patterns, flower and tree patterns, scissors patterns, human shapes, three-strategy patterns and spiral patterns. The patterns are varied and dazzling. These are all unusual phenomena and are not easy to see.

The so-called "turtle pattern" refers to the patterns like those on the back of a turtle. People with such patterns "will have a good reputation for the rest of their lives" (see "Shui Jing Ji").

The "bird pattern" refers to patterns that look like flying geese. It can be imagined that the person has very thick soles of his feet, which indicates that he will hold an "eighth position", which means he can be a simple official or a manager.

A person with "beautiful patterns" refers to those with patterns that look like ears of wheat. This person can enjoy "a wealth of food and wealth".

Those with "flower and tree patterns" refer to patterns that are like trees with lush branches and leaves. This person can "accumulate countless wealth."

People with "scissors patterns" have fingerprints that are shaped like scissors. People with this pattern can "hide a huge amount of money."

If someone has "human-shaped patterns", his fingerprints are like the shape of the Chinese character "人", and this person can be "more powerful than thousands of officials".

Having "three strategy patterns", that is, three deep vertical lines, people with this appearance are "blessed and prosperous" and "will become princes, generals and ministers."

If there is a "thread", this person will be "rich and noble", and even "famous for thousands of miles."

In addition, moles on the feet should not be taken lightly, as there is a story behind this. According to the New Book of Tang, when An Lushan was a small soldier, he washed the feet of Zhang Shougui, the governor (equivalent to the current provincial governor, with much greater power). Discovering a mole on the sole of the foot, Lushan couldn't help but take a few more glances. Shou Gui said, "My current fame and fortune are all due to this mole." Lushan disagreed and said, "I have three moles on the sole of my foot, why am I still a follower now?" Shou Gui hurriedly asked Lushan to take off his boots and take a look. Sure enough, he promoted him again and again. From then on, An Lushan rose rapidly in career, and became the military governor of Pinglu, Fanyang and Hedong. Later, he led his troops in a rebellion and even proclaimed himself emperor! No wonder it is said in "Shui Jing Ji": "Three moles under the feet represent the power of the nine states." This shows that if a man has a mole under the foot, he will be blessed, while a woman will give birth to a noble son.
