According to a blog post published by security firm Trustwave, a large-scale cyberattack occurred on MicroTik routers late last month, resulting in a "massive" infection of more than 17,000 devices with Coinhive mining software installed. Trustwave security researcher Simon Kenin said that one entity obtained all the coins mined by the devices. This attack may be widespread in Brazil at present, but other regions have also been found to be affected, so Kenin believes that the target of this attack is global. |
