Salamanca councillors set to approve cryptocurrency mining ban

According to Oleantimesherald, the Salamanca Common Council in Spain held a regular meeting on Wednesday and is expected to approve the city's Local Law No. 2 of 2018, which stipulates a "suspension of commercial cryptocurrency mining activities in the city of Salamanca." Dennis Hensel, general manager of the Public Utilities Commission (BPU), said that the goal of the indefinite ban is to prevent people from establishing cryptocurrency mining institutions in urban power supply areas.
