Ethereum community's "anti-ASIC" debate escalates, ProgPoW developers criticized as scammers

The controversy over whether Ethereum will adopt ProgPoW, an algorithm that can prevent ASIC mining, continues to ferment. Rumors have emerged on social media that members of the ProgPoW development team are either associated with or bribed by chip manufacturer Nvidia. In response, the main members of the ProgPoW team have denied it. Previously, mining machine manufacturer Linzhi issued a statement calling for the algorithm that prevents ASICs to be shelved and calling on the Ethereum development team to issue clear rules and requirements for ProgPoW algorithm mining machines.
