Welcome to IPFS Weekly The InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) ( https://ipfs.io/ ) is a new hypermedia distribution protocol, addressable by content and identity. IPFS enables the creation of fully distributed applications. Its goal is to make the web faster, more secure, and more open. Due to the large scope, this weekly newsletter aims to track developments across the ecosystem. This is what is happening in the Interplanetary File System ecosystem! Late last week, go-ipfs 0.6.0 was released, bringing QUIC transport, noisy secure transport, the ability to customize 404 pages, Gossipsub upgraded to v1.1, and many bug fixes. Researcher Jim Kosem shares his findings and recommendations after extensively studying mobile user patterns in P2P activity and how browsers influence them. HackFS is a hackathon designed to build the foundation for Web3: a censorship-resistant, decentralized, and trustless digital world. ETHGlobal, in partnership with Protocol Labs, ran an event centered around dapps, web3, decentralized storage, and everything in between.
