Following Tesla, Bitcoin miner Blockcap will also open an office in Austin

On April 12, according to foreign media reports, Blockcap, a North American-based crypto mining company, announced last weekend that it will establish a new office in Austin, Texas.
Blockcap said in a statement on Friday that once its new equipment is operational in Austin, its hashrate will reach about 3.5 EH/S, with a total of 42,000 mining machines deployed, reportedly doubling its original hashrate. According to blockchain data, this will account for more than 2% of the entire Bitcoin ( BTC ) network hashrate.
Blockcap was founded in 2020 by a group of blockchain veterans and currently controls approximately 12,000 mining machines, generating more than 7 bitcoins per day.
In addition to Blockcap, Oracle, Tesla, Hewlett Packard and other technology companies are moving to Austin, so many people call Austin "Silicon Mountain". It was previously reported that Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk recently bought a property in Lake Austin, west of downtown Austin, the capital of Texas, for more than $3 million. Tesla is breaking ground on a super factory near Bergstrom International Airport in the east of Austin, and Musk said on Twitter last month that the new site in Giga Austin, Texas will bring more than 10,000 jobs.
Blockcap did not immediately respond to questions about where it plans to set up an office in the Austin area, or how many jobs it will create. However, Blockcap and other blockchain companies moving to Austin have been supported by former Texas Governor Rick Perry, who said Texas has "become a premier location for forward-looking industries such as blockchain" and that Blockcap could bring jobs and economic growth to the state.
