Fingers reveal physical illness In palmistry, it is possible to diagnose a person's illness by observing the color of the fingers. The complexion of the fingers includes skin color and the visibility of veins; the skin color is mainly determined by the complexion of the first joint at the end of the finger, but also the complexion of the entire palm. It is roughly as follows: 1. Ruddy - Ruddy fingertips are a sign of good blood circulation and abundant blood in the capillaries, which is a healthy complexion. 2. White - White palms indicate insufficient Qi and blood, indicating lung Qi deficiency. A pale and thin middle finger indicates insufficient cardiovascular function or anemia. A pale little finger is mostly caused by spleen and kidney deficiency, clear and long urine, and irregular bowel movements. 3. Yellow - Yellow palms indicate spleen deficiency and decreased liver function, while dull khaki palms indicate liver tumors. 4. Dark red or purple-red: Dark red or purple-red on the palms or fingertips indicates increased blood viscosity, indicating cardiovascular disease. 5. Blue - Blue color on the palms or fingers indicates gastrointestinal dysfunction, which is mostly caused by spleen and stomach deficiency, low oxygen content in the blood, and blood circulation disorder. 6. Dark color - Dark color in the palms indicates insufficient kidney energy, which is mostly caused by kidney dysfunction. If the entire hand is dark and dull, as if covered by a layer of black fog, it indicates that the body's immune function is low and there is an immune system abnormality. The strength of expectations For most people, the thumbs and index fingers are the strongest. If all five fingers are evenly plump and well-developed, it is a sign of good health. If one of the five fingers appears particularly thin, it indicates that the corresponding meridian or internal organs are in poor health or are prone to illness. The straightness of hope All five fingers are plump, straight, flexible and strong, which is a sign of health. The meridians run to the tips of the fingers. If the meridians are unobstructed and the Qi and blood are vigorous, the fingers will be plump, straight, flexible and strong. If the lower fingers are bent and deformed, it means that the circulation of qi and blood in the relevant meridians is blocked and there is hypoxia. Observing the straightness of fingers means observing the straightness of each finger. If the fingers are abnormally thick or thin, bend to the left, right, forward or backward, or the tips of the fingers are enlarged like a spoon, or the base of the fingers are shrunk and there are large gaps between the fingers at the base, these are all considered deformations. According to the deformed part of the body and referring to the relationship between the meridians and internal organs along which the deformed finger runs, the health status of the corresponding internal organs can be determined. According to the content of the internal organ theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the meaning of bent and deformed fingers can be analyzed. For example: 1. Thumb - The thumb is where the lung meridian runs. If the first section of the thumb (i.e. the tip) is enlarged and the root is shrunk, it can be determined that there is a lung meridian disease. Because the lungs control qi and breathing, they go up to the throat, connect to the skin and fur, and open to the nose. A deformed thumb means insufficient lung qi and hypoxia in the lung meridian, which makes one prone to respiratory diseases such as colds and coughs. Such as suffering from tracheitis, asthma, rhinitis, nasal polyps, dry skin, etc. 2. Index finger - The index finger is where the large intestine meridian runs. The large intestine connects to the small intestine above and the anus below. It has the function of absorbing water and excreting feces. A bent and deformed index finger indicates a dysfunction of the digestive system, often accompanied by constipation, abdominal bloating, fatigue, and colds (the lungs and large intestine are exterior and interior to each other). If there are blue veins on the index finger, it means there is stool retention in the large intestine and frequent constipation. A deformed index finger indicates a lack of oxygen in the large intestine meridian, which makes one prone to not only large intestine diseases but also cervical spondylosis (the large intestine meridian runs through the neck). A deformed thumb indicates a lack of oxygen in the lung meridian. The lungs and large intestine are exterior and interior to each other. Lack of oxygen in the lung meridian will inevitably affect the circulation of qi and blood in the large intestine meridian. If both the thumb and index finger are deformed, the correctness of the judgment is further confirmed. 3. Middle finger - The middle finger is where the Jueyin meridian runs and reflects the lesions of the pericardium meridian and liver meridian. The pericardium is the envelope of the heart and has the same functions as the heart, controlling blood circulation and consciousness. If the first section of the middle finger is bent, there may be symptoms such as palpitations, difficulty breathing, dizziness, shortness of breath, etc., and the patient may also suffer from arrhythmia, abnormal blood pressure, constipation (the heart and small intestine are exterior and interior of each other), etc. The middle finger also reflects the lesions of the liver meridian. The liver is responsible for the smooth flow of Qi throughout the body, food digestion and absorption, and the regulation of emotions, and it opens up the eyes. Deformation of the base of the middle finger may cause decreased vision, depression or irritability, flank pain, abdominal distension, chest tightness and fatigue. The liver is responsible for the regulation of qi and blood, and is related to the normal menstruation. Therefore, deformation of the root of the middle finger often indicates gynecological diseases. 4. Ring finger - The ring finger is where the Shaoyang Meridian runs, and reflects the pathological changes of the Triple Burner Meridian and the Gallbladder Meridian. The triple burner meridian is responsible for the body's qi and water metabolism. The gallbladder aids digestion and is responsible for decision-making. The functions of the triple energizer and gallbladder are similar to those of the nervous system and endocrine system. Therefore, patients with nervous system and endocrine system diseases often have deformed ring fingers. Deformation of the first section is an upper-jiao lesion, reflecting a weakened respiratory system function. It can also affect the skin's regulatory function, making it easy to become intolerant to cold or heat. Deformation of the root of the ring finger, in addition to decreased digestive function and susceptibility to gallbladder disease, often leads to neurasthenia and endocrine disorders, and may also cause symptoms such as migraine, insomnia, frequent dreams, memory loss, fatigue, and bitter taste in the mouth. 5. Little finger - The little finger is where the Taiyang Meridian and Shaoyin Meridian run, and can reflect the diseases of the heart, small intestine, kidney and bladder. The kidneys are responsible for growth, development and reproduction, and for storing bones and sperm. Deformation of the first section of the little finger reflects the pathology of the heart meridian, and common symptoms include palpitations, difficulty breathing, dizziness, and abnormal blood pressure. To determine the level of blood pressure, you must refer to the color of the palms of your fingers. Reddish color on the palms of your fingers often indicates high blood pressure, while white color on the palms of your fingers often indicates low blood pressure. When determining heart and blood pressure diseases, the shape of the first section of the middle finger should be observed simultaneously. If both are deformed, it further proves the correctness of the determination. Because the heart and small intestine are exterior and interior to each other, deformation of the first section of the little finger may also cause small intestinal dysfunction, and mental stress can easily lead to diarrhea. If there are blue veins on the little finger, it is mostly due to constipation; women with stool retention in the intestines are prone to uterine fibroids and breast hyperplasia. If the fingers have no obvious blue veins but are dark blue, it is mostly due to spleen and stomach deficiency and coldness, and there may be loose stools. Deformation of the second and third sections of the little finger, often manifested as the second and third sections bending backwards, often reflects lesions in the kidney meridian and bladder meridian. It indicates kidney deficiency, back pain, decreased energy, fatigue, and in severe cases, dizziness, blurred vision, and decreased reproductive function. Large spaces between the fingers often indicate a weak spleen and stomach. When there are obvious digestive system diseases or bone and joint diseases, the fingers may not be able to be fully straightened and closed.
