A Brief Talk on the Qimen Technique of Identifying People

A Brief Talk on the Qimen Technique of Identifying People

Qimen, a type of numerology, was popular during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. It originated from the "Qi Men Dun Jia" which tells the story of Huangdi's battle against Chi You. It is a relatively complete model of time, space, image, number and logic used by the ancients to understand the objective world. Qimen originated from military affairs and covers the four major factors related to the success or failure of things: right time, right place, right people, and divine help, in order to achieve the goal of winning by surprise. There are three odd numbers, namely Yi, Bing and Ding of the heavenly stems; there are eight gates, namely Kaimen, Xiumen, Shengmen, Shangmen, Dumen, Jingmen, Simen and Jingmen.

Qimen Dunjia can predict the weather, geography, and all kinds of folk affairs. The prediction range can cover all aspects of the world. Its measurement range and accuracy are truly amazing. It is called the king of magic, a high-level prediction technique, and the study of emperors and generals. In addition to prediction, Qimen has many other functions. Qimen originated from war. In ancient times, people used Qimen to deploy troops. Zhuge Liang of the Three Kingdoms used Qimen to evolve the Eight Diagrams.

Nowadays, some people flexibly use the Japanese Qimen to change their fortunes. I remember that around 2003, I met a Qimen master near the Buji Customs in Shenzhen. His surname was Huang. He taught me a method of using Qimen to adjust fortune, which is to use the Japanese Qimen, determine the auspicious direction of a certain day, then set up the pole, and finally stay in this auspicious direction. After doing this for a period of time, your luck can be improved. I have verified that this method can indeed improve people's luck.

If you are a Feng Shui master who is also proficient in Qimen, you can set up a Qimen bureau before you go to survey the Feng Shui. You can then use predictions to understand the general conditions of the house, factory, cemetery or shop you are going to survey, and measure some conditions of the geomagnetic field and biofield that are invisible to our naked eyes as well as some unknown situations of the land in the past. Qimen is known as the Feng Shui master's eye into the earth, but remember that Qimen predictions cannot replace on-site Feng Shui surveys.

Every time I go to survey Feng Shui for clients, I will set up a Qimen Bureau in advance. Through Qimen predictions, I can understand the general situation and precautions of the Feng Shui survey, as well as problems with houses, factories, graves or shops, so that I can pay special attention during the survey. In this way, I can record the survey data on the spot and directly draw a blueprint after getting the owner's eight characters. According to the Qimen results, the owner's eight characters and the data obtained on the spot, I will calculate the Feng Shui survey report and the corresponding Feng Shui adjustment plan based on the concept of "harmony between man and nature" for Feng Shui layout.

Some time ago, I heard that a celebrity Feng Shui master in Hong Kong was buried alive by a landslide while surveying Feng Shui. It was a pity. If he had made a prediction before going out that day, the tragedy might not have happened.

Although some people use Qimen to predict a person's lifetime fortune, it is really beyond their ability to use this technique to predict a person's overall life situation. The first choice for predicting a person's life is fortune-telling with the eight characters. The eight characters are arranged according to a person's year, month, day and time of birth. The major fortune, minor fortune and annual fortune are determined, and the general fortune of a person's life is deduced based on the mutual generation and restraint of the five elements. However, the eight characters can only make vague predictions. If you predict something in detail, its inherent defects will be revealed. All researchers of Yijing and numerology must be proficient in several techniques to verify each other.

Qimen is used to predict a specific event. Its calculations can be said to be extremely precise and its advantages are obvious. The amount of information it contains is incomparable to that of Liu Yao and other divination techniques. When constructing the Qimen mathematical model, it uses the 24 solar terms, the upper, middle and lower three elements, and the eighteen yin and yang determinations, and distributes the three wonders and six instruments in the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams. Then, according to time and space, the nine stars representing the time, the eight gates representing human harmony, and the eight gods representing opportunities are placed in the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams (Qimen is laid out using the post-natal Eight Trigrams). The nine stars also place the three wonders and six instruments representing the geographical advantages in the Eight Trigrams sky plate, and then deduce the success or failure of the event based on the images, numbers and principles. The image, of course, refers to the hexagram image in a comparative manner. The number includes the innate number (the number of the innate Bagua), the acquired number (the number of the acquired Bagua) and the number of the five elements. The principle refers to the Yi principles of the Book of Changes, which are in line with the source of the Tao. The prediction result is deduced in this way.

Everyone should know that a true forecaster, whether he is fortune-telling, or using Qimen, Liu Yao, or Plum Blossom Yi Gua, will not make predictions with certainty, nor will he read people's words and expressions. Everything should be the result of deduction based on the various mathematical models in the Book of Changes.

Chinese numerology is basically based on the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams, and they all use the post-natal Eight Trigrams, namely the Wen Wang Eight Trigrams. Wen Wang lived in present-day Xi'an, China. What they simulated were China's time and space positions, and the Nine Palaces were also divided into Chinese territory. For example, when I predicted the location of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 flying to Beijing, the local position could not be determined. I think this is the real shortcoming of our various Yixue numerology. What we who study Yijing and numerology should address is how to pass on our culture in line with the times, and how to address the shortcomings in our culture.
