When we say that a person has a full forehead, the next sentence must be that the chin is square and round. So what does it mean to have a square and round chin? What does a square or round chin represent in physiognomy ? Let’s learn more about it below. Ever since the saying "a full forehead and a square chin" became popular among the people, many people have had many misunderstandings; however, the superficial way of face reading is not suitable for drawing conclusions about whether a person is "destined to be rich and noble". As for the definition of "square and round chin", there are many different understandings among the people. Therefore, Yang Yide would like to briefly express his own opinion here, just to stimulate discussion. 1. The accurate definition of the chin To correctly understand the "square and round chin", we must first define the "chin" accurately. People mostly understand it as the "chin", which can only be barely correct, but strictly speaking, the chin refers to the area under the mouth; and from the perspective of physiognomy, there is actually more than just the chin under the mouth, it also includes the Chengjiang among the thirteen main parts of the center line of the face (Tianzhong, Tianting, Sikong, Zhongzheng, Yintang, Shangen, Nianshang, Shoushang, Zhuntou, Renzhong, Shuixing, Chengjiang), and ten auxiliary palaces parallel to the Chengjiang: ancestral home, grandson's home, outer courtyard, forest garden, lower tomb, farmland, wine pool, suburban corridor, wasteland, and road. Parallel to the chin, there are ten other auxiliary palaces: lower residence, servants, children, pits, basement, ponds, geese and ducks, sea, and boats and vehicles; together, the chin includes more than twenty palaces within the chin. Therefore, saying that the chin is the chin is ambiguous. So, how should we define the chin accurately? 1. Definition of the width of the ground pavilion: The chin refers to the lowest palace on the center line of the thirteen main parts of the human face. Since it is located on the center line of the human face, it should first belong to the middle of the dividing line between the left and right faces. Only the angle part with a certain deviation to the left and right of this line is it, not the infinite width to the left and right of the bottom of the entire face. However, because the ancients did not have an absolutely precise definition of it, it is impossible to talk about a fixed tolerance zone distance similar to the sum of left deviation and right deviation like in modern times. Therefore, Yang Yide believes that the width of the chin should be defined as the same as the width of the mouth, which should be more reasonable. However, if there are nasolabial folds or wrinkles under the mouth, it can also be divided mainly by extending straight lines from the changes in these lines. It may be difficult for ordinary people to understand this, but it is generally easy for experienced people to distinguish. 2: Definition of the height of the chin: The chin refers to the lowest palace, and the ancients did not specify how high it was, but it is easy to define; because the ancients pointed out the thirteen main palaces of the human face; so we will stop here: from the upper starting point of the Mercury Palace (that is, the upper part of the upper lip) to the longest part of the lowest part of the entire face multiplied by one third, which is the height of the chin. 3: The area of the ground pavilion: Once the width and height of the chin are determined, the area of the chin should be easy to calculate: the same width as the mouth, and one-third the height below the chin; multiplying them together gives the approximate area. The exact definition of the chin: Since the chin is not necessarily rectangular, there is no absolutely accurate authoritative definition and the basic size can only be used as an estimate. And because people's faces are of different sizes and bone structures, the area is not uniform. As long as you can understand the basic block it is in based on the above, you don't have to stick to the literal meaning and "absolute size" and the like. 2. Accurate definition of the square and radius of the chin In addition to the ambiguity in the definition of "Di Ge" among the people, the definition of Fang Yuan is also not very accurate. So, what exactly is square and circle? Some people understand it as "the main focus is on the square, supplemented by the circle"; some people understand it as "the main focus is on the circle, supplemented by the square"; so, which is the correct understanding? Yang Yide believes that square and circle should be discussed separately first, and then discussed as a whole. How do you mean? 1. Divide the ground and chin first: The squareness of the chin should mean that the line of the lowest part of the chin should be flat and long, because the flatter and longer it is, the more "square" it appears. 2. Look at the roundness of the chin: The roundness of the chin should be viewed based on the arc of the outermost edge of the main area of the chin; the arc of the chin is curved and beautiful, which means it appears round. Unified discussion: The chin is square and round, that is, the lowest line of the chin is flat and long; the surrounding lines of the chin are round and beautiful. From this we can see that it is still difficult to meet these two requirements, but the person in this case (Zhou Hongyi) should be considered to have met the standards (perhaps you will also say that his forehead is also quite full). 3. Square chin and wealth and good fortune The ancients often praised "a full forehead and a square chin" to mean a very wealthy and auspicious face. This statement itself is not wrong. However, many people misunderstand this formula in many aspects; for example, some people have a wrong understanding of the forehead and a wrong definition of the position of the chin; some are not good at distinguishing "full" and "square" from ordinary "fat" and "obesity", and mix them up; causing later generations to think that they meet these conditions and think they are amazing; in fact, even if the forehead is full and the chin is square, but other parts are not well matched, the person will be an ordinary person. I have described this in detail in the article "My Opinion on a Full Forehead", so I will not repeat it this time. 4. The biggest impact of the chin on life Although a square chin can increase a person's wealth and status, it will be more powerful only when combined with a full forehead. According to the popular sayings in physiognomy books, the forehead generally controls the early years, while the chin generally controls the luck in later years. For example, Chen Shui-bian's facial features are "a full forehead and an irregular chin", which led to bad luck in his later years. |
