Recently, London startup Plutus announced the launch of an NFC-enabled mobile application that will enable 32 million merchants worldwide to support Bitcoin payments. Plutus said the app allows users to convert bitcoin into fiat currency using blockchain, and the funds are then loaded onto a virtual debit card account, allowing contactless payments to be made in stores. Danial Daychopan, co-founder of Plutus, said: "This program is very pure and practical. All Plutus does is access the existing infrastructure. As for the rewards and loyalty program, it is still the business of the Bitcoin platform." According to Mobile Payment Network, the program is integrated and runs on the Ethereum blockchain platform. Plutus revealed that the Bitcoin mobile app will be launched in 2016. |
