To quote one of the book’s co-authors, Arvind Narayanan, an assistant professor of computer science at Princeton, in an introductory blog post:

“If you’re looking for a book that explains how Bitcoin works at a technical level, and you have some basic knowledge of computer science and programming, this book should be for you.”

In addition to Narayanan, the book’s authors are Joseph Bonneau, a technical fellow at the Electronic Frontier Foundation; Andrew Miller, a computer science doctoral student at the University of Maryland; Steven Goldfeder, a computer science doctoral student at Princeton University; Jeremy Clark, an assistant professor of information systems engineering at Concordia College; and Ed Felten, a professor of computer science and public affairs at Princeton University who was named last year as President Obama’s technology advisor.

This book also has family writers

This book assumes that the reader has a certain basic knowledge of computer science and is mainly aimed at students, software developers, entrepreneurs, and technology enthusiasts.

This book answers a series of questions about Bitcoin and focuses on the various technical features and the network that will be formed in the future.

The authors also explore other aspects of digital currency, including security, user anonymity, regulation, and the various applications that have been developed using Bitcoin as a base platform.

For those who want to take a deeper dive into the technology, each chapter of the book includes a series of "homework problems". In addition, readers can complete some programming tasks by implementing different components of Bitcoin through some simplified models.

The authors stated that

“After reading this book, you will know everything there is to know about Bitcoin and other digital currencies, and be able to distinguish between completely fictional stories. You will have a basic understanding of what kind of security software you need and how to interact with the Bitcoin network. You can also integrate Bitcoin concepts into your own projects.”
