Finally, after much anticipation, the Lisk team announced the official launch date of its platform, May 24, more than a month after the ICO ended. At the same time, Lisk CEO Max Kordek also revealed why the launch of the platform’s main product network was delayed. Lisk is a platform dedicated to providing the creation of distributed applications (Dapps), which may subvert the entire application market. They are all based on blockchain technology. Blockchain technology gives these Dapps the advantages of data security, zero downtime and anti-censorship. According to the Lisk team, the development of Dapps can be carried out through modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. They are currently developing a Dapps application store on the blockchain. According to the project's creators, each distributed application will run on its own unique blockchain - often called a sidechain, a wrapper that keeps the main Lisk network efficient, fast, and lean. Dapp developers have full control over the sidechain, which they can customize to their needs. The sidechain will run on a variant of the proof-of-stake algorithm called delegated proof-of-stake, with a maximum of 101 masternodes. The Lisk client seeks to provide a simple, easy-to-use and intuitive interface. Lisk will also support multiple signature groups to provide the highest security for startups, enterprises and individuals, and there are up to 16 configurable accounts. According to the Lisk announcement, Lisk released the planned release date of the platform and the pre-release roadmap, and then their network crashed. Soon, Lisk team members released a temporary fix to increase the maximum number of transactions per block to 10. The problem was solved immediately, but the Lisk team realized that they needed to optimize it before the Lisk network was released. The website backend was switched from SQlite to PostgresSQL, and several code adjustments were made to speed it up. The Lisk team claims that the upgrade has been successfully completed and the client has become more responsive. However, further testing is required, and the GitHub repository has received some issues that need to be resolved before Lisk is released. Max Kordek To make the Lisk community feel better, the Lisk team claims that they will be more open to the outside world. They will increase engagement with the community by holding community meetings every two weeks, and they will also share the internal development roadmap until the Lisk launch day.
