Bitmain received an order for 17,500 S19 mining machines from a US mining machine hosting company, and the first batch of mining machines has been delivered

According to BlockBeats, Core Scientific, a US blockchain solution provider, recently announced that it has reached an agreement with Bitmain to purchase 17,595 Antminers from Bitmain in the next four months. According to BlockBeats, the current official price of S19 is 14,260 yuan. If the price of the mining machine remains unchanged in the next four months, the total value of the order will exceed 200 million yuan.

S19 is Bitmain's latest flagship Bitcoin mining machine. At the end of September, Core Scientific's 655,000 square feet data center in the United States will receive and fully deploy the S19 mining machine purchased this time. It is understood that Bitmain has previously divided different teams according to regions. The user of this order is located in the United States, and it is likely that it was negotiated and processed by Bitmain's Americas team. Due to the previous epidemic and Bitmain's internal reasons, this order may be the largest single order obtained by Bitmain so far.

Kevin Turner, President and CEO of Core Scientific, said, “Core Scientific has received and begun testing Bitmain’s latest ASIC miners and has successfully increased the existing hashrate to 110/s±3%. With the group’s long-term electricity contracts in place, Core Scientific will be able to meet customers’ digital mining needs much faster than its competitors.”

According to Forbes, Core Scientific operates five mining farms in the United States, four of which are located in North Carolina and Georgia, and one in Kentucky. These data centers can provide about 381 megawatts of power to run their machines, and Core Scientific's chief customer officer Russell Cann said they have "the infrastructure to quickly expand to 450 megawatts of power at their current locations."

While mining activity and much of the computing power previously seemed to be concentrated in China, this may not last long. Core Scientific's move suggests that North American investors are heating up their investment in bitcoin mining operations. 2019 was a groundbreaking year for the North American bitcoin mining industry, as several high-capacity projects (such as Blockstream's own mining facilities and Germany-based Northern AG's expansion into the United States) broke ground. At the same time, China's water-rich regions such as Yunnan and Sichuan have also been affected by disasters and policies. According to previous reports by Lvdong, Yunnan, Sichuan and other places have issued documents many times that they are suspected of rectifying the use of local water and electricity, which will also affect the operation of local mines.
