DCU of the United States becomes the first credit union member of the Blockchain Digital Trade Chamber of Commerce

Rage Review : American credit union DCU announced that it has joined the Chamber of Digital Commerce, a blockchain alliance whose members include technology giant Microsoft. Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU) has joined the Washington-based blockchain trade group, the Chamber of Digital Commerce.

DCU claims to be the largest credit union in New England by total assets. Founded in late 1970, the institution has more than 500,000 members across the United States and is the first credit union to join the Digital Commerce Chamber of Commerce, which was founded in 2014 and is dedicated to promoting blockchain policymaking in the United States.

However, joining the Chamber of Commerce is not DCU’s first foray into the blockchain field. DCU has established an Internet Finance Innovation Center in Boston and has expressed its desire to attract blockchain developers.

Other credit unions are also exploring the application of blockchain technology. In July, the U.S. National Credit Union Association CUNA launched the credit union ledger project CU Ledger, which is committed to developing related products and services, such as digital identity recognition.

In addition to blockchain, DCU also claims to be an early adopter of new technologies. It was one of the first savings cooperatives to launch a banking services portal network.
