Hydro-Quebec allowed to charge crypto miners more

According to foreign media reports, Quebec's local energy board, Régie de l'énergie, has recently allowed Hydro-Quebec, a Quebec hydroelectric company, to charge higher fees to cryptocurrency miners and blockchain industry players.

As reported earlier in June, Hydro-Quebec had said it would ask the province’s energy board to quickly determine how much cryptocurrency miners should be charged and determine how much energy should be allocated to the industry, while meeting the needs of maximizing revenue and creating jobs.
