Bitcoin security platform BitGo has partnered with New York-based HYPR, a decentralized biometric data storage company, to enable password-free security authentication. The collaboration between BitGo and HYPR applies biometric technology to the blockchain, improving the security of users’ digital currency, digital assets, private keys, and identity information storage. BitGo protects up to $1 billion in digital assets each month and processes approximately 10,000 transactions per day, so security is of great significance to BitGo. HYPR enables encrypted biometric data to be stored in an offline, decentralized manner, and can also protect corporate data from hacker attacks. HYPR's decentralized biometric security platform combined with BitGo's digital asset platform further improves the security and usability of blockchain-based applications.
The cooperation between the two companies is beneficial to both parties' customers. HYPR provides BitGo with a better user experience, while BitGO provides blockchain technology to HYPR users. Both provide financial institutions with a template for solutions that combine blockchain and biometric security technology.
