RACIB data: The number of Russian crypto mining companies increased by 15% in 2018

According to bitcoin.com, data from the Russian Association of Cryptocurrency and Blockchain (RACIB) shows that the number of crypto mining companies in Russia has increased by 15% this year, and the total number has now reached 75,000, with more than 350,000 employees. As of July this year, Russia has accounted for 6% of the global mining market.

However, RACIB Chairman Yuri Pripachkin also said that Russia may actually miss the opportunity to become a leader in digital finance. He stressed that "the development of digital currency is a foregone conclusion", and Russia's reluctance to accept and adopt this form of currency has brought "investment losses of up to $15 million per year."
