Around 22:00 on September 10, a rights defender released a video and screenshots claiming that Xu Mingxing was suspected of futures fraud and financial fraud and had been detained by the Weifang Police Station in Pudong, Shanghai. It is reported that Xu Mingxing was surrounded by rights activists in the OK Group's Shanghai office on September 10, and later chose to report the case. The video released by netizens showed Xu Mingxing going to the Weifang Police Station in Pudong, Shanghai to take a statement after calling the police, instead of being detained.
