What is the highest price that Bitcoin can reach before halving? Here are the answers we collected

In order to help everyone relax and add some good luck, during this year's Lantern Festival, Zhikuang University launched the "Guess the Coin Price, Celebrate the Lantern Festival" activity on Weibo: predict the highest price (denominated in USDT) that Bitcoin can reach from February 8 to the day of Bitcoin halving. The user who predicts the price closest will receive a cash reward of 6,666 yuan.

At present, the coin price guessing session of this event has been successfully concluded. The Weibo post has a total of 834 comments, 1,135 reposts, and 169 likes. Excluding duplicate comments and pure reposts, we received a total of 838 price predictions.

We did a simple data analysis on these predictions and found some interesting data.

Maximum, minimum, average

Among the 838 predicted prices, the maximum is 230,000 USDT. If this price is really reached, "one coin for one villa" will no longer be a dream in some third- and fourth-tier cities in China!

The minimum is 612 USDT. Seeing this price, I was shocked. Did this gambler travel back to 2016? From 2017 to now, the price of Bitcoin has never been lower than 700 USDT.

The average is 17223 USDT. Yesterday (February 16), the closing price of Bitcoin was $9934.43 (CMC data). To reach the average price predicted by everyone, Bitcoin still needs to rise by about 73.4%.

Median, Mode, Distribution

What’s more interesting is that among the 838 predicted prices, the median and mode are both 15,000 USDT.

There are 19 bidders who predicted the highest price to be 15,000 USDT, and the second and third most popular prices are 16,000 USDT (13 bidders) and 14,000 USDT (12 bidders).

The following figure shows the number of bidders in different price ranges. We can see that:

• The largest number of people is in the price range of 13000-14000USDT (including 13000USDT, excluding 14000USDT), with a total of 123 people.

• More than half (58%) of the bettors believe that the highest price of Bitcoin before halving will fall within the range of 12,000-17,000 USDT (including 12,000 USDT and excluding 17,000 USDT).

The highest price of Bitcoin in 2017 was $20089 (CMC data). Among the 838 predicted prices, 110 predicted prices that exceeded 20089 USDT. It seems that there are quite a few people who are very optimistic about the price of the currency!
