Bitcoin OKCoin: Tim Draper's investment journey

Tim Draper from the world-renowned large venture capital firm DFJ is one of the most famous Bitcoin investors and the person who bought 30,000 Bitcoins from the US government at the highest price this summer. He has invested in Hotmail, Baidu, Tesla, and SolarCity, and predicts that the price of Bitcoin will reach $10,000 per BTC. Tim Draper has always been outspoken about his optimism in Bitcoin, calling himself a "Bitcoin fan."


Since 2010, Tim Drap has invested in 17 Bitcoin companies, including top Bitcoin companies such as OKCoin and Boost VC. The list is as follows:

OKCoin: The world's largest digital asset trading platform with domestic and international sites. The daily Bitcoin trading volume exceeded 300,000, and the monthly trading volume exceeded RMB 3.2 million. It is also the world's first platform to launch strategic trading.

BoostVC: The largest incubator for Bitcoin startups. Founded in 2012 by Adam Draper, son of Tim Draper, a fourth-generation venture capitalist. His father, Timothy C. Draper, founded BoostVC, a venture capital firm.

Draper Fisher Jurvetson is best known for winning the Silk Road auction for 29,000 bitcoins.

【SnapCard】: A professional Bitcoin payment company. Currently, it has established cooperative relationships with Coinbase and Bitpay. Its payment scope is also relatively broad, including paying IRS tax bills. The charging model is relatively flexible, charging 2% of the fee between $2 and $10, and a maximum of $10.

【Gliph】: An app provider that provides Bitcoin sending services. It is equivalent to a channel provider for Bitcoin products, connecting Bitcoin applications and other communication software.

【Volabit (formerly Coincove)】A Mexican Bitcoin trading company that received $25 million in funding in July 2014. Volabit uses Bitcoin as a basis to build an international currency payment bridge for remittances and international trade. 【CrowdCurity】A company that pays security researchers Bitcoin to solve defects. Crowdcurity regulates the reward mechanism for finding bugs through outsourcing processes. When connected to the website's online services, there are about 250 software testers.

The above are six representative companies. Others include: Hedgy, a company that uses hedging to reduce the volatility of Bitcoin value; BitPagos, a Bitcoin payment service company; CoinLab, a Bitcoin business incubator; VerifyBTC, a Bitcoin identity verification service provider; CoinPlug, a Bitcoin wallet and payment company; and Korbit, a Bitcoin wallet and transaction service provider from South Korea.
