Iceberg Model 2: Why are the node block production efficiency and single T revenue of The Force Operation and Maintenance so outstanding?

In the previous article "Iceberg Model: Unveiling the Secrets Behind the Stability and High Yield of the Force Mining Pool", we learned that the first step in Filecoin mining is to ensure that the mining equipment can maximize its performance, thereby maintaining a stable growth in computing power.

So, does ensuring a steady growth in computing power mean continued profits?
The answer is still: not necessarily.

Miners’ earnings during the space race

According to normal mining logic, we assume that the total network computing power is 100PB, and a miner A has 10PB . Excluding the influence of luck, the reward that miner A can theoretically get should be 1/10 of the total network reward. However, the actual situation is that only a small number of miners can get the rewards they deserve .

According to the data from the block browser filscan.io, there are currently 592 miner nodes that have completed sector encapsulation, of which nearly 450 miner nodes have a luck value as low as -100% . In other words, these 450 miner nodes have not produced any blocks since mining, and naturally have not received any mining income.

Of course, part of the reason is that the node computing power is too small, and the probability of obtaining the right to generate blocks is low. But the bigger reason comes from "underwater": whether miners can optimize in various aspects to ensure the smooth completion of WinningPo S t when obtaining the right to generate blocks .

WinningPoSt and Lucky Deviation

"Lucky deviation" represents the difference between the actual reward and the theoretical reward. If the actual reward is higher than the theoretical reward, for example, in the example above, the block reward obtained by miner A is higher than 1/10 , then the lucky deviation value is positive, otherwise it is negative.

According to statistical theory, as long as the time is long enough, the actual reward of miner A will be infinitely close to the theoretical reward. However, in the process of Filecoin mining, WinningPoSt is an important factor affecting the "lucky deviation". After obtaining the right to produce a block, if the miner fails to complete WinningPoSt within 30 seconds, he will lose the right to produce the block height and the block reward. In the long run, the actual income will naturally be lower than the theoretical income.

How does The Force Pool ensure stability?

The above picture shows the block production status of the Force Mining Pool node T02438. It can be seen that the average time for each block production is about 5 seconds and it shows continuous stability.

Network delay will affect the block generation of miner nodes. The Force Mining Pool matches them with sufficient and stable network broadband resources, and monitors the network status in real time through a complete monitoring system to ensure that there will be no network lag during WinningPoSt.

Relying on its accumulated technology in IPFS/Filecoin , IPFS Force Zone has also optimized the official procedures to shorten the time of WinningPoSt .

According to the data in Figure 3, the top ten mining nodes in terms of mining yield rate all maintain relatively high lucky deviation values. The 1st to 3rd nodes are official nodes and have stopped mining. The 4th node has a relatively low computing power value and a relatively large luck factor. The next is the node T02438 of the Force Mining Pool, which currently has a computing power of 2.9 PB and still maintains a relatively high lucky deviation value and single T income.

From a long-term perspective, the Force Mining Pool node can successfully produce blocks every time it obtains the right to produce blocks. With a little bit of luck, it can obtain additional block production rights, naturally keeping the lucky deviation value positive and the single T profit higher than other nodes.
