Filecoin mainnet is officially launched!!!

The Filecoin mainnet was officially launched today at 22:44 Beijing time on October 15!

This exciting moment marks the culmination of years of innovation and hard work. From early work designing proofs for storage and replication that will trustlessly incentivize the growth of storage, to the advanced systems engineering required to make such a complex decentralized market a reality, to the integrated tools and project ecosystem that make the Filecoin network more powerful and more accessible — we have achieved so much as a community.

Together, we have upgraded the web with an open, distributed, and verifiable storage layer. The Filecoin network represents a completely new way to store and retrieve data peer-to-peer - secured by cryptographic proofs to verify that data is uniquely stored and replicated over time. With Filecoin, anyone can participate as a storage provider, profit from opening up their hard drive space, and help store humanity's most important information. This provides an important incentive layer for IPFS - Interplanetary File System - enhancing the existing web3 storage infrastructure already used by thousands of projects and developers.
