Huobi and Binance quietly charge fees for their TRON version of USDT, while EURUSD and KuCoin have no plans to do so yet

Wu said blockchain learned that Huobi recently started charging handling fees for TRON (TRC20) USDT, with a withdrawal fee of 1 USDT; Binance also started charging a withdrawal fee of 1 USDT for TRC20 USDT since February. Binance announced on February 19 that the handling fee for withdrawing USDT (TRC20) through TRON was adjusted to 0.2 USDT. Binance responded that the increase to 1 USDT was a normal fee adjustment. Huobi said that it was due to TRON's increase in gas fees. Huobi did not announce the change in handling fees.

OKEx and KuCoin staff told Wu Blockchain that they have no plans to charge fees for TRC20 USDT for the time being. USDT on the TRON chain has always been free of fees (but the exchange requires a certain amount of TRX to be pledged), and the outside world is puzzled by the fact that Huobi and Binance have started to charge fees. There is a view that the two major exchanges may have started charging fees for the most popular TRC20 USDT in order to promote their own stablecoins. However, the 1USDT fee is still relatively cheap compared to the fees of more than 20USDT on the Ethereum and Bitcoin chains.
