Agency: Testing found that Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti restricts mining of multiple digital currencies

This week, RTX 3080 Ti went on sale. RTX 3080 Ti has restricted mining at the GPU level, and NVIDIA previously stated that it was targeting Ethereum. An agency test in June found that the RTX 3080 Ti's Ethereum hashrate is about 57MH/s, less than half of the RTX 3090 (120MH/s), and also inferior to the lower-end RTX 3080 (85MH/s). Further tests found that not only Ethereum, but also some relatively unpopular small currencies, such as Ethereum Classic, Ergo, RavenCoin, etc., are also "unsuitable" with the RTX 3080 Ti. The only one known to be unaffected seems to be ConFlux. |
