Domain name industry giant Namecheap announced that it will accept Bitcoin payments and support the Lightning Network, making it the first major global domain name registrar to accept Bitcoin. “We are pleased to inform you that we now accept Bitcoin as a payment method in addition to PayPal, Visa, MasterCard and American Express,” the company wrote in a statement. Namecheap is a leading ICANN-accredited domain name registration and website hosting company founded in 2000. It mainly provides comprehensive IDC business products such as domain name registration, virtual hosting, VPS hosting and dedicated servers. Currently, its three major data centers are located in Phoenix, Dallas and Atlanta in the United States. |
