1. Acute disease face:

Symptoms include flushing, rapid breathing, flaring of the nostrils, painful expression, irritability, etc. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is common in lobar pneumonia, malaria, etc.

2. Chronic disease face:

Symptoms include haggard look, dull or pale complexion, dull eyes, fatigue, etc. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is a deficiency syndrome caused by weak vital energy; Western medicine believes that it is more common in chronic wasting diseases. Such as malignant tumors, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, tuberculosis, etc.

3. Anemic face:

4. Hyperthyroidism face:

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is a syndrome of spleen qi deficiency and kidney yang deficiency; Western medicine believes that it is more common in hypothyroidism. This type of facial appearance can also be seen in orchiectomy and hypopituitarism.

6. Acromegalic appearance:

The head becomes larger, the face becomes longer, the lower jaw is large and protruding, the cheekbones are prominent, the brow arches are raised, the ears and nose are enlarged, the lips and tongue are thick, and the teeth are sparse and misaligned. This facial appearance is often seen in acromegaly.

7. Mitral valve face:

Also known as rheumatic heart disease face, it is characterized by yellow and swollen complexion, dark red cheeks, purple lips, dark tongue, palpitations and shortness of breath. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is a case of blood stasis in the heart, which is caused by deficiency of qi and yang in the heart; Western medicine believes that it is more common in rheumatic heart disease, is one of the important characteristics of mitral stenosis, and can also be seen in patients with cor pulmonale or certain congenital heart diseases.

8. Typhoid Fever Face:

Symptoms include slow reaction, indifferent expression, red tongue with little coating, shortness of breath, laziness to speak, and even impaired consciousness. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that it is a deficiency of both Qi and Yin, which belongs to the category of febrile disease; Western medicine has changed it to be more common in diseases such as typhoid fever, meningitis, and encephalitis.

9. Tuberculosis face:

Symptoms include pale complexion, rosy cheeks, and emaciation. This facial appearance is often seen in the active stage of pulmonary tuberculosis.

10. Full Moon Face:

The face is red and fat, round like a full moon, and you can't even see the ears from the front and the nose from the side. Due to the accumulation and sagging of fat on the cheeks, the wings of the nose are squeezed and pulled down, the mouth fissure becomes smaller, deep grooves appear between the corners of the mouth and the cheeks, the face becomes rosy and tender, the amount of vellus hair increases, acne often occurs, and a small mustache can be seen on the lips. Western medicine believes that this is the characteristic facial feature of people with Cushing's syndrome or excessive corticosteroids caused by long-term use of adrenocorticotropic hormone.

11. Nephrotic edema:

Symptoms include pale and swollen face, tight and dry skin, swollen eyelids that are most obvious in the morning, and finger pressure depression sign on the forehead.
