Man buys Bitcoin for $27, and the price soars to $866,000 four years later

According to the website of Taiwan's Eastern Television, Christopher Koch, a man from Oslo, Norway, spent US$27 (RMB 165) to buy 5,000 Bitcoins (also known as bit coins, Bitcoin) in order to write a paper on data encryption four years ago. He then forgot about it until the beginning of this year when major news websites reported on Bitcoin. He then remembered it and logged into the wallet encrypted with the private key and found that these Bitcoins had appreciated in value and the market price reached US$866,000 (RMB 5.27 million).

When Christopher was writing a paper, he accidentally found the data of Bitcoin and was deeply fascinated by its encryption algorithm. So he bought 5,000 Bitcoins and was laughed at by a girl. Unexpectedly, four years later, the girl could no longer laugh at him. Christopher can now buy a luxury apartment with only one-fifth of the Bitcoin in his account. It is no exaggeration to say that he is a rich man.

According to the results of the "Bitcoin (BTC) Currency Exchange Rate Conversion Calculator" provided by the website "coinmill", the market price of Christopher's 5,000 bitcoins was US$1.01 million on October 30.

Bitcoin is a user-controlled, globally accepted virtual encrypted electronic currency. Currently, there are some shopping websites in the world that accept Bitcoin consumption.
