bitxatm deploys Bitcoin ATM in Bern, Switzerland

     Bitcoin consulting and solutions provider bitxatm has installed a two-way Bitcoin ATM in the Swiss capital of Bern.

     Bern residents can now easily make Bitcoin transactions through these ATMs, with a 5% transaction fee and a maximum daily limit of $5,159.

     In the past year, bitxatm has installed three Bitcoin ATMs in Switzerland in partnership with two major Bitcoin ATM manufacturers, BitXatm and Lamassu.

     Thanks to Switzerland's favorable development environment and laws and regulations, many Bitcoin startups, including wallet service providers, trading and consulting companies, have begun to move to Switzerland in the past few months.

Earlier this year, Switzerland exempted Bitcoin from VAT, which was defined as a new form of consumption tax, which will undoubtedly attract a large number of Bitcoin trading platforms and Bitcoin ATM operators to move to Switzerland.

     The Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority officially allowed Bitcoin startups to install Bitcoin ATMs in Switzerland in June 2014.

     The issuance of this license comes just a few weeks after Zurich suspended Bitcoin ATM services. At that time, representatives of the Swiss Bitcoin community said that they had asked the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma ) to make a legal public statement on the suspension of Bitcoin ATM installation plans. Later, the Bitcoin community and the Financial Market Supervisory Authority finally reached a consensus that Bitcoin ATMs can be installed in five specific cities in Switzerland.
