Gaming Giant G2A Partners with BitPay to Accept Bitcoin

RZESCZOW, Poland and HONG KONG, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Marcel Roelants, General Manager EMEA at BitPay, and Bob Voermans, Executive Vice President of Global Payments at G2A.COM, are pleased to announce the partnership between G2A.COM and BitPay.

G2A.COM, the world's fastest growing digital game trading market, has invested more than 20 million euros in research and development activities over the past two years to ensure a safe and secure online program. In 2014, it had more than 6 million users worldwide and a total of more than 5 million transactions. The average monthly transaction volume so far in 2015 is more than 700,000.

G2A CEO Bartosz Skwarczek confirmed today that G2A will accept Bitcoin payments on its G2A.COM marketplace. G2A has partnered with leading enterprise payment processing platform BitPay to process their Bitcoin transactions.

G2A is one of the leaders in the digital gaming market. It provides a secure and efficient way to trade digital products such as games, Steam software activation licenses, Xbox Live cards, PSN codes and online gaming time cards. G2A.COM serves more than 4 million new customers each year and handles more than 10 million transactions per year worldwide.

Bob Voermans, Executive Vice President of Global Payments at G2A.COM, said that G2A.COM is very happy to confirm BitPay as a trusted partner. BitPay is now part of the G2APAY offer. With the addition of Bitcoin, G2A buyers and sellers can now benefit from another great global payment method. Bob concluded: "In my estimation, this partnership will accelerate seller growth, as customers will buy more frequently on the G2A.COM marketplace."

BitPay, the world's leading Bitcoin payment processing platform, is trusted by many businesses, including Microsoft, Adyen and Neteller. It allows merchants to accept Bitcoin payments from customers while pricing and settling products using their local exchange rate. By accepting Bitcoin, merchants can accept payments from anyone, anywhere in the world at a low cost and without the risk of chargebacks.

Marcel Roelants, General Manager of BitPay EMEA, said: “We are delighted to be working with G2A to help us expand Bitcoin payments to a wider gaming audience. Digital products such as games are inherently borderless. Using Bitcoin as a global payment method will further enrich the online experience.”
