Japanese bitcoin service company BitFlyer has established a Blockchain Lab, which is specifically designed for enthusiasts who are interested in discovering the potential uses of the bitcoin blockchain. Bitcoin is built on a distributed ledger, the blockchain. Transferring value remains the primary purpose of the blockchain, but it allows small amounts of other data to be stored in transactions. As a result, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and major companies are beginning to seek use cases for using blockchain to store other data. BitFlyer describes Blockchain Lab as “a service dedicated to providing blockchain analysis, review, research, development of new features, and publication of research results.” Its interface is available in three languages: English, Japanese, and Chinese. Users can search the blockchain, transaction prices and other technical information of Bitcoin address balances through its "Bitcoin Review Tool". Its "Bodyguard" function can immediately return information to the sender when a transaction is received, allowing users to confirm that the Bitcoin address is valid and the recipient is correct. BitFlyer also has some basic notarization features: Blockchain Recorder. This feature allows users to attach information to a transaction so that it can be permanently stored on the blockchain. There is also a similar feature called "Blockchain Documents", which allows users to upload documents to the blockchain and confirm the document by recording its existence at a specific time. Once data is entered into the Bitcoin blockchain, it cannot be changed. Since the first Bitcoin block in January 2009, records of all transactions and related data have been publicly available. Since its establishment in mid-2014, BitFlyer has developed into one of the most frequently used Bitcoin trading platforms in Japan. Starting from just charging users transaction commissions, BitFlyer has gradually developed many businesses. It currently provides users with a more professional trading platform and tools, as well as a Bitcoin crowdfunding platform with a complete set of blockchain-related tools. ChainFlyer, a blockchain visualization tool, was born in early 2015 as a dynamic improvement on the more stable blockchain data provided by other companies. ---- |
