GoPay, the largest payment gateway in the Czech Republic, now accepts Bitcoin

Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, claims to be one of the most important Bitcoin hubs in Europe. Recently, GoPay.cz, a leading local payment gateway, announced that they have also joined the ranks of providing Bitcoin payments, partnering with Czech Bitcoin startup BitcoinPay to provide digital currency payment services to more than 2,000 merchants.

Roman Valenta, customer service manager at Gopay, told Cointelegraph:

“We are always looking to add new payment methods to our payment gateway, which is why we chose Bitcoin. We feel that there is a wider interest in this payment method than just in a specific market, and people want the greatest convenience when paying.”

Bitcoin payments are faster, more convenient and more global. The difference between traditional banking technology and innovative technology also lies in the fees charged, said Alireza Beikverdi, founder of Bitholla, a P2P mobile payment application.

Jure Pirc, president of the Slovenian Bitcoin Association, said:

"The Czech Bitcoin community and market are very active, and the usage rate of Bitcoin in the country is also quite large, so GoPay's acceptance of Bitcoin payments is of great significance to the Czech Bitcoin market and will provide Bitcoin payment options for existing merchants on its platform."

According to Jure Pirc in the Czech Republic, it is easy to buy Bitcoin in the Czech Republic because the country currently has more than 9 Bitcoin ATMs. In addition, there are more than 8,000 lottery terminals and postal agencies that provide Bitcoin distribution points. Now that Gopay has also added Bitcoin payment, Czechs have a new way to use Bitcoin. "
