Grammy winner Imogen Heap supports blockchain technology

British singer and songwriter伊莫金·希普[1] recently expressed her views on blockchain technology. She believes that blockchain technology can help musicians protect their rights.

She told the audience at the TechCrunch conference in London that a revolution is coming to the art world, and that smart contracts based on blockchain technology could change the way people in the art industry interact with data.

She added:

“We (artists) are at an amazing moment in history. A revolution is happening, and it (blockchain technology) will come into play next year. Artists will be able to control their own music to the greatest extent possible. All of this is what blockchain can give us.”

Earlier this year, she released her song “Tiny Human” at a special event hosted by Guardian and stored the data associated with the song on the Ethereum platform, a move that received widespread media attention.

She also spoke about bringing monetization to the music industry during a panel discussion at the TechCrunch conference.

“Right now, one of the biggest problems facing artists is payment. We need a fair trading environment, and I am very willing to contribute to building a fair music industry… It (blockchain) may create many new platforms and services that will enrich our lives.”
