JPMorgan Chase shuts down Bitcoin mining hosting service and hardware company Compass

On August 19, Compass Mining is a company that provides Bitcoin mining hosting services and hardware. According to the company's co-founder and CEO Whit Gibbs on Twitter, the US banking giant JPMorgan Chase has closed their account. At the time of writing, JPMorgan has not provided any rationale for its decision. According to the Compass Mining website, they are a "Bitcoin-first" company that aims to "support the decentralized growth of computing power" and Bitcoin network security, allowing "everyone" to mine BTC. William Foxley, another director of Compass Mining, believes that JPMorgan Chase's closure of its account is likely due to their Bitcoin business model. |
