BTCC deploys 100 nodes across five continents

BTCC has deployed 100 nodes across five continents today to support the Bitcoin network. Bitcoin nodes enforce the rules of the Bitcoin network by serving the entire Bitcoin blockchain and validating blocks and transactions.

BTCC is the first exchange and mining pool to donate a full Bitcoin node in order to maintain the stability of the Bitcoin network.

In the Bitcoin network, Bitcoin miners are rewarded by confirming transactions, while nodes host and transmit for the Bitcoin network free of charge.

Samson Mow, chief operating officer of BTCC, said the deployment of nodes is necessary to maintain the development of the bitcoin network as the number of bitcoin nodes available has dropped by 19% over the past year.

"As the world's leading Bitcoin platform, we are committed to supporting the Bitcoin network," said Miao Yongquan. "Our deployment today will play a key role in maintaining the Bitcoin network to ensure that there are enough Bitcoin nodes in the network."

Mikael Wang, chief technology officer of BTCC, said that 10 of the nodes were set up as DNS seed nodes. BTCC's DNS seed nodes provide the Bitcoin community with secure and trustworthy full nodes to help new nodes synchronize with the network.

“BTCC has deployed ten powerful DNS seed nodes with unlimited network access, which can be used by anyone when hosting their own Bitcoin Core node,” said Wang Lidong. “Just simply connect to seed.btcc.com:8333.”

Of the nodes donated by BTCC, 19% are deployed in Germany; 19% in Singapore; 13% in China; 21% in the United States; and 7% each in Australia, Brazil, Ireland, and Japan.

BTCC CEO Bobby Lee said BTCC has deployed nodes across five continents to ensure that the world can connect to the Bitcoin network smoothly.

"Most of the available full Bitcoin nodes are in the United States. So the nodes we contribute internally are mostly distributed in areas with fewer nodes," said Li Qiyuan. "We encourage other Bitcoin companies to join us and contribute to the Bitcoin ecosystem by initiating node donations."
