Jinbei S1 mini user experience

S1 mini is a small USB-powered silent mining machine manufactured by Jinbei for Starcoin. This time we mainly disassemble and test this machine to provide a reference for users to purchase.

The body of this mining machine is made of aluminum alloy and is about the size of a mobile phone. Jinbei has also produced some silent mining machines for other currencies in the field of silent USB mining machines, mainly mining HNS and CKB. There is currently no detailed information about this mining machine on the official website. Starcoin is currently running on the test network, and the main network will be launched after April 27, so it is still impossible to mine main network coins.

The packaging is relatively simple, with a mining machine and a data cable, which is also a power cable. There are no network ports or other interfaces, so the computer needs to be turned on all the time. It is more suitable for miners who use graphics cards to mine Ethereum to run for a long time. Of course, in theory it can also be driven by a Raspberry Pi, but the relevant software has not yet been released.

We unscrew the screws at the back and we can see the circuit board inside the mining machine. Remove the red glue around it and pull out the board. Unscrew the screws of the heat sink and you can see the computing power chip of the mining machine. There are four computing power chips in total.

According to the instructions, we download the driver and mining program, install them, and then open the mining program to see the configuration of the mining pool. We fill in the local node address and set the miner name.
