Continue to trade at high levels after recent strong gains

Bitcoin prices traded at high levels in the Asian session on Friday (January 8), maintaining the upward trend of the past two days.

The quotes released by BITSTAMP show that Bitcoin/US dollar (XBT/USD) rose from the 430 level to the 455 line yesterday, and traded at a high level after reaching above 465 in the Asian session of this trading day.

The quotes released by KRAKEN show that Bitcoin/Euro (XBT/EUR) rose from the 400 level to around 420 yesterday. After rising above 425 in the Asian session of this trading day, it fluctuated at a high level.

The quotes released by Huobi.com show that Bitcoin/ RMB ( 6.5959 , 0.0047 , 0.07% ) soared from around 2810 to above 3005 yesterday. It hit a high of nearly 3074 in the Asian session of this trading day and then traded at a high of around 3007.

In the industry, Indian Bitcoin wallet startup Zebpay received US$1 million in Series A funding from angel investors.

Zebpay, which offers a mobile app for buying and selling bitcoin, is said to count textile industry veteran Amit Jindal, Claris Life Sciences vice-chairman Arjun Handa and engineer and developer Nagendra Chaudhary among its backers.

Zebpay co-founder Saurabh Agrawal said that increasing technical support from the government has given Zebpay the opportunity to expand its production.

At 13:28 Beijing time on January 8, Bitcoin/USD was 455.35, Bitcoin/Euro was 419.80, and Bitcoin/CNY was 3020.50.
