Uphold Appoints Jeff Pietras as Vice President of Payments

Recently, Uphold announced the appointment of Jeff Pietras as Vice President of Payments. It is reported that he will be responsible for the development of new international markets and the development of payment services applicable to Uphold members.

Robin O'Connell, Executive Vice President, Head of Development and Partnerships at Uphold, said in a statement:

Over the past 15 years, Pietras has worked for some of the most prominent companies in the financial services, consumer technology products and cross-border payments sectors. His extensive background in fintech and innovative technologies will bring valuable experience to Uphold’s payment strategy as the company seeks to expand into developed and developing markets.

Jeff previously worked at WorldRemit, a London-based fintech company, where he was responsible for international business development in key growth regions of Africa, Asia and the Americas. Previously, he led the digital transformation of the incumbent global payments provider at Western Union. He also spent six years at Nokia in Europe in a variety of development roles, expanding the business into new mobile services, including non-bank financial applications.
