Coinbase Launches Bitcoin Exchange for Debit Cards in the U.S.

     Bitcoin payment service provider Coinbase announced in an announcement today that it will launch a beta version of a new feature that will allow US customers to buy Bitcoin directly with debit cards. Previously, Coinbase 's European customers could already purchase digital currencies with credit and debit cards.

Here is Coinbase ’s official announcement:

“ Today, we are launching a new product (in beta) in the US that allows customers to purchase Bitcoin directly using their debit cards. With 5.2 billion debit cards in circulation worldwide, we believe this new product has great potential and will make it easier for new customers to purchase their first Bitcoin.”

     The announcement also added that the feature is currently in beta and will charge a 1% transaction fee to US customers. The service will be fully functional in a few months.

Users can now see this feature on Coinbase 's website. Users can add a debit card in the payment method option on their account management page. The addition process can also be completed on Coinbase 's Android and iOS clients. Once added, users can immediately use the debit card to buy Bitcoin.

     It is worth noting that Coinbase is also the world's first company to launch a Bitcoin debit card. The company officially issued a Bitcoin debit card in the United States in November 2015.

Currently, this new feature has a transaction limit of $100 per transaction, and many users hope to increase the limit.
