Coin Center and Blockchain.info have announced the finalists for the 2016 Blockchain Awards following a two-week public nomination period. There are three finalists in each of the five categories, with the decentralized e-commerce platform OpenBazaar nominated for three awards, including "Bitcoin Champion Project of the Year", "Best Startup" and "Most Promising Consumer Application".
It is reported that the event will be held on May 2, 2016 at the Consensus 2016 flagship conference in New York City. The evening will feature keynote speeches by Rep. Mick Mulvaney, a digital currency technology expert from the U.S. Congress, and Fred Wilson, partner at Union Square Ventures. Readers can vote for the finalists in each category within one week.
