Craig Wright 'will prove he is Satoshi Nakamoto by moving Bitcoins'

Rage Comment : Once the news that Australian scholar and businessman Craig Wright admitted that he was Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin, was released, it caused a huge stir. Many people still have doubts about his identity. Craig Wright also said that he would prove his identity by transferring Bitcoin from the block. Since Bitcoin currently exists in a trust institution, the transfer requires the permission of the trustee, and he will also provide independent verification documents as evidence. The truth will only be revealed a few days later when he successfully transfers Bitcoin.

Australian academic and businessman Craig Wright recently wanted to prove that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin. He said he would prove his identity by transferring Bitcoin.

As first reported by the BBC, Wright will prove himself “by moving bitcoins from previous blocks.”

Nick Caley, head of corporate communications at London-based public relations firm The Outside Organization, confirmed the plans to CoinDesk, and London-based Milk Publicity also did further coverage of Wright, which also went viral on Monday.

However, the plan contradicts Wright’s previous statements to The Economist, in which the Australian said he “cannot transfer any of his bitcoins because they are now held in a trust.”

When asked about this conflicting statement, Caley told CoinDesk that Wright would have received permission from the trustee to use a bitcoin from a previous bitcoin address, explaining:

“The trustee will not consent to the transfer of trust assets. However, Dr. Wright is obtaining permission to transfer bitcoins into and out of previous bitcoin addresses to ensure that the trust assets are not reduced.”

He added that the bitcoin transfer would take place in the "next few days," but declined to answer when asked what he would do if the trustee disagreed with the transfer.

In a blog post earlier today, Wright said he would provide other clues in addition to moving the bitcoins.

He said:

“In the coming days, I will be releasing a series of supporting evidence for my previous claims, including independently verified documentation (which should put to rest some of the accusations of falsehood) and the transfer of Bitcoin from previous blocks.”

Wright’s efforts to prove he is Satoshi Nakamoto — with strong supporting evidence from former Bitcoin Core maintainer Gavin Andresen and Bitcoin Foundation founding director Jon Matonis — have been questioned by many critics who believe the evidence provided by the Australian academic in his blog may be fake.
