The company's general manager wrote in a letter to investors:

"I have been working to sell the remaining assets of ChangeTip and the remaining engineering team to another company, but have not been able to find a suitable buyer."

ChangeCoin, the parent company of ChangeTip, one of the most popular consumer-oriented bitcoin startups ever, has raised more than $4 million in its third public funding round.

An additional $640,000 was raised in an emergency funding round in preparation for the sale — a raise that was necessary because the company had nearly exhausted all of its funding in January 2016.
