Dash budget proposal for May and June 2016

Dash budget proposal for May and June 2016

Sorry for the late release of the budget report! All proposals have been finalized, just wait for the super fast arrival, no need to make any adjustments. Thank you!

The May budget cycle is approaching and I wanted to summarize the budget proposals from the core team and the budget allocations currently voted on. The next budget payment will be at block number 465248, which should be this Friday, May 6th. If you haven't voted yet, please do so as soon as possible.

Version 12.1 is in preparation, and the online testing phase is expected to be between May 10 and May 17. We expect the testing to take about 2 months, and then it will be released to the main network. Version 12.1 includes an upgraded budget system and a network for creating user groups.

Previous budget items for the core team:

  1. Core Team Budget – 1,176 Dash (in progress)

  2. Dash Lamasu ATM Integration – 610.26 Dash (5th out of 12)

  3. Public outreach (repurposing of Dash/fiat swaps from April) – 2,156 Dash (ongoing)

  4. Evolution description and development – 150 Dash (2nd of 3 payouts)

  5. Light wallet maintenance – 45.8 Dash (second out of 3 expenditures)

  6. Payment for Dash.org domain fees due in December – 701.67 Dash (3rd of 2 payments)

New budget items for the core team:

Acquired reimbursement for costs of building Dashtalk Link

This is actually the second attempt to acquire and transfer ownership of Dashtalk to the Dashcoin team. For some reasons we resubmitted this proposal and luckily it received high support this time.

1) Although the first proposal received many masternode votes in favor (up to 14% of the total votes), it was not successfully executed because the previous budget was full. However, the substantial increase in the total budget amount in May and the relative decrease in competing proposals made this acquisition fee proposal successfully executed.

2) Although many community members expressed support for the proposal on the forum, they wanted to complete the Dash World proposal in April first, or they felt that we submitted the proposal too late, so they voted against it. Many people suggested that we resubmit it in May, at which time they would change their votes to support it.

3) We believe that there will be higher support in May, and the successful passage of the resubmitted proposal will be a good expression of the community's desire to hold Dashtalk. Otherwise, we may once again fall into a situation where the main communication channels are controlled by a few people.

Mixed Currency Liquidity Support Version 2 Link

Unfortunately, the original CoinHash Liquidity Support proposal has been discontinued over the past few months due to a lack of budget, which makes it very difficult to implement such a service. One of the recent objections to this proposal is the fee change. Since the Dash price has increased by over 200% since the proposal was created, this is understandable. To address this and get back to the original budget, we have resubmitted a plan for the next 2 months, replacing the previous one with an adjusted fee budget. After 2 months, we should be using the new budget system. The current adjusted fee for CoinHash Liquidity Support for May and June is 46.37 Dash per month.

Dash Lite Masternode/Trezor Hardware Wallet Support Links

We have reached an agreement with Mazaclub, whereby the supplier will be responsible for maintaining the light wallet and integrating the masternode instructions into the light wallet and Trezor hardware wallet. In response to the needs of masternode holders, this solution will provide Trezor devices with stronger security guarantees for the increasingly valuable masternodes (private keys).

Other community proposals in May:

  1. Dash World: Marketing Version 2 Improvements

  2. Mixed currency liquidity supports reimbursement proposal

  3. The complete budget plan (ranked by current vote)

Note: USD exchange rates are included in the table for new budget proposals (based on when the proposal was submitted to the network). The exchange rate for the Core Team's budgets older than 12 months is calculated at $6.78/Dash as of May 2nd. The existing periodic budget exchange rates are calculated using the creation/approval time point. The exchange rate risk is only affected by the budget proposal applicant, not the network.

June Budget Proposal

The June budget proposal cycle is drawing to a close. I have listed the funding requirements for proposals initiated by the core team and the community so far this month. The next budget payment will be made at block number 481864, which should be approximately 4am UTC on Monday, June 6th.

If you haven't reviewed this month's proposals and voted yet, there's still time to do so. Keep in mind that ballots must be submitted 24 hours before the budget is finalized, so make sure to vote no later than 4am UTC on June 5th.

Version 12.1 Reminders

Version 12.1 is currently in beta, which includes the implementation of contracts. As a reminder (as announced in the April earnings), contracts are 3-12 month immutable proposals that are paid first. Due to some changes, when we deploy version 12.1, the budget system will be "reset" and we will manually add back the previous budget proposals. This will be a great time to position our next journey, so we may make changes to the recurring budget items. When version 12.1 is officially launched, more specific and detailed plans will be announced.
