Over-the-counter digital currency exchange service Genesis Global Trading is trading classic ethers (ETC), but reports indicate that it has bought no more than $100,000 so far. Genesis, which serves institutions and individuals, sells digital currency blocks and other options such as bitcoin, with a minimum order of $25,000.

Although the number of initial buyers is still small, CEO Michael Moro said he is very confident that consumer demand for this emerging digital currency will continue to rise. In recent days, ETC has won users as a protest tool and can start to build a new market.

“We started exploring ETC last weekend based on the inquiries we received. People are looking for a place to trade ETC, and Genesis is happy to provide such a place.”

Moro described institutional interest in ether as “minimal,” while cautioning that it is premature to compare the two currencies at this stage.

According to news reports, the price of classic ethers has increased by more than 250% in the last 24 hours, while the price of Ethereum has decreased by 5% in the same period.
