【Brain-opening】Searching for Satoshi Nakamoto

"Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto, have you seen that report?" Linglong Evil Monk ran straight to the computer as soon as he returned to the Taoist temple, preparing to send an email to Satoshi Nakamoto using PGP encrypted email. Because he ran too fast, he tripped over the power cord and hit his forehead on the display screen.

This morning, Linglong Xieseng accidentally saw BBC news at the company and found that a man named Craig Steven Wright claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto. Linglong Xieseng was shocked and spilled the coffee in his hand onto the keyboard.

"Damn it." She immediately took out a few pieces of paper and wiped it quickly, but her eyes never left the report on the screen.

"I don't want money, fame, or people's admiration. I just want to be left alone." Craig looked sincere and a little tired in the camera. "I just want to correct the public's misunderstanding of me."

As soon as this news was broadcast, it immediately caused a stir in the digital currency industry. Various opinions emerged one after another, and there were endless voices of doubt and approval, but only Linglong Evil Monk firmly and clearly knew that he was a fake.

Since the birth of Bitcoin, Linglong Xieseng has been a staunch follower of Satoshi Nakamoto and the only assistant he trusted. Perhaps this is not particularly accurate. Satoshi Nakamoto, who is extremely meticulous, uses PGP encryption and Tor network to communicate with everyone, including Linglong Xieseng. However, his frequency of contact with Linglong Xieseng is much higher than that of other believers in the IT and financial sectors. Under the instruction of Satoshi Nakamoto, Linglong Xieseng entered Babbitt Information and pretended to be a columnist to obtain the latest and most timely Bitcoin and blockchain intelligence.

In fact, no one in the world knows who Satoshi Nakamoto is. He has been carefully disguising his identity. For example, between 5:00 and 11:00 Greenwich time, Satoshi Nakamoto rarely posts, and the same is true on Saturdays and Sundays. Therefore, after drawing a time curve of his more than 500 posts, the outside world speculated that he was resting during this period, and thus determined his time zone; for example, when posting, Satoshi Nakamoto used typical British spellings such as "optimize" and "colour", and left a sentence on the Genesis Block: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks" - this was the title of the front-page article of the Times that day. All the evidence seems to indicate that Satoshi Nakamoto should be a British person, or at least he lives in the UK. However, Linglong Xieseng understood that these were just smokescreens.

"Craig is full of lies. He claims that he doesn't want to be famous, but he reveals his desire for fame everywhere. I have investigated and found that he found a Scottish writer to write a long report for him half a year ago. Such contradictory behavior is really laughable." Linglong Evil Monk rubbed his red forehead while typing emails, "Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto, what do you think about this?"

Linglong Evil Monk hit the Enter key forcefully and began waiting for Satoshi Nakamoto's reply.

"The biggest feature of Bitcoin is decentralization. Why should we care who Satoshi Nakamoto is?" Linglong Xieseng received a reply from Satoshi Nakamoto. "I am the father of Bitcoin, but I am not the owner of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a currency that will change human history. It belongs to anyone and will connect the whole world. I can be you, I can be Craig, I can be anyone. The answer to this mystery is not that important, right?"

Linglong Xieseng spent a long time editing and typing in the reply column, but finally deleted "Mr. Satoshi Nakamoto, who are you?"

Over the years, Linglong Xieseng wanted to know who the computer genius she had been following was. In fact, Linglong Xieseng had always had a fantasy in her mind, but even she thought it was a fantasy, let alone having the courage to ask Satoshi Nakamoto for confirmation.

"I understand." Linglong Evil Monk finally replied with only these four words. She stared blankly at the computer, feeling somewhat disappointed.

"Linglong, I know you've always wanted to ask this question." Linglong was very surprised by Satoshi's reply because she hadn't sent the question. "You're a smart person. You already have the answer in your mind."

Linglong Evil Monk's heartbeat began to accelerate, and the answer seemed to become clearer.

"Remember to put the lid on your coffee next time and don't spill it on the keyboard. Also, be careful when you walk. It doesn't look good if your forehead gets red from a bump." Linglong Evil Monk looked at Satoshi Nakamoto's third reply, his eyes filled with joy.

That's right. Does it matter who Satoshi Nakamoto is? Since he could be you, me, Craig, the Python engineer at the next table, or the cashier at the supermarket, why can't it be an advanced artificial intelligence or a Skynet covering the world?

Maybe Satoshi Nakamoto doesn’t exist, maybe Satoshi Nakamoto is everywhere.
