Rage Review : On Tapscott and Alex Tapscott, co-authors of Blockchain Revolution, jointly held a blockchain discussion in Ontario, Canada to study solutions to optimize the blockchain ecosystem and eliminate people's cognitive misunderstandings. They named the group of participants "Muskoka Group". Participants included personnel from the Linux Foundation, Hyperledger Project, World Wide Web Foundation, BitFury, Consensus and other institutions. They participated in the event only on their personal standpoints and will continue to promote the healthy and stable development of the blockchain ecosystem in this way in the future. Translation: Annie_Xu Blockchain technology experts gathered for a three-day conference to plan a campaign to dispel myths about the technology, which they say is currently receiving a bad rap and has been questioned about its security and legal uses. The attendees, collectively known as the Muskoka Group, agreed last week to conduct research, promote blockchain development, and develop a strategy for government leaders to adopt the technology. In the future, they will also showcase the application of blockchain technology outside the financial services industry and opportunities beyond saving money. Don Tapscott, co-author of the book "Blockchain Revolution," and Alex Tapscott co-hosted the meeting in Lake of Bays, Ontario, Canada. The Muskoka Group includes some of the biggest blockchain supporters, including IBM and JPMorgan. In order to help the industry develop, they discussed how to improve the supervision and management of the blockchain technology underlying digital currencies. Don Tapscott mentioned in an interview:
Blockchain technology is the software code that underpins the cryptocurrency bitcoin, allowing banks, investors and other market participants to transfer assets and record transactions without an intermediary. Blockchain technology is seen as having the potential to revolutionize the financial services industry and change the way Wall Street operates by reducing third-party costs, increasing transparency and speeding up the trading process. Tapscott said he looks forward to holding a larger conference in the near future and hopes to raise funds next week to launch Blockchain Hub, a database of relevant technical intellectual property and know-how that can connect the network of blockchain and digital currency projects. Tapscott said attendees were attending in their personal capacity and not as representatives of their respective institutions. Participants included Jim Zemlin, executive director of the Linux Foundation, Brian Behlendorf, executive director of the Hyperledger Project, and Ana Lopes, board member of the World Wide Web Foundation. Other blockchain technology-related people attending the meeting included Jamie Smith, former deputy press secretary of the White House and current global chief communications officer of BitFury Group Ltd., and Joseph Lubin, founder of blockchain startup Consensus Systems. |
