ETC London event scheduled for next week, focusing on the development and future of ETC

We are grateful for the help of developers, miners, community members, users and investors. In the past week, the ETC community welcomed a new team, Grothendieck Team; our monetary policy update is still ongoing and this topic is still a hot topic in the community; ETC's activities in London will also be held as scheduled; in addition, the articles published by Dr. Cebrino and Luis Molina are also worth our consideration.

Grothendieck Team

The review and management of Grothendieck, a development team at blockchain company IOHK, is about to be completed. The team is named after the mathematician Alexander Grothendieck. Born in Germany and living in France, he created a whole system of abstract theories of modern algebraic geometry. The team is working on the Ethereum Classic blockchain and plans to build a Scala client for ETC based on the IOHK Scorex framework. Information about the team members, backgrounds, work experience and profiles will be uploaded to major social platforms soon. ETC Monetary Policy

The ETC monetary policy submitted by @snaproll has been officially adopted and incorporated into ECIP-1017 (ETC Improvement Protocol).

ECIP-1017 is the final revision of ETC's monetary policy, which limits the current issuance of one block to 14.0625 ETC. The improvement agreement proposes the theoretical maximum issuance of ETC and a specific issuance reduction plan. In addition, ECIP-1017 also explains how to maintain the currency issuance plan by changing the network consensus algorithm, which may be from the current PoW to PoS or a hybrid model of PoW+PoS.

Discussions on ETC’s monetary policy are taking place on many social media platforms, but are mostly concentrated in the Slack #monetary_policy channel.

London ETC event scheduled for December 13

Dr. Avtar Sehra launched the ETC event in London on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.

The event is being hosted by leading financial services law firm Eversheds LLP at their headquarters in St Paul’s, London, and is still inviting speakers and panelists from the Bitcoin and ETC communities.

Dr. Cebrino published an article on IPFS

The article, titled “The Importance of IPFS to Blockchain,” states:

The design of blockchain itself determines that it is not suitable for storing large amounts of data. Therefore, blockchain can benefit from the Inter Planetary File System (IPFS). Imagine that the storage fee of a large-capacity smart contract video in the ETH or ETC network must be very high. Then we can choose to store the video in IPFS, and then store the address displayed on IPFS on the blockchain.

Fermat distributed management model

Molina published an article introducing the Fermat distributed management model:

The Ferma distributed management system empowers the community to decide the direction of its project and the delegation of some human work. We hope that this system will work well in the initial stage and expand. With real usage experience and data, problems can be discovered in time and corresponding countermeasures can be formulated.

ETC Wikipedia Page Construction

Reddit user "bitp" posted that the current Wikipedia link of ETC has been directly transferred to ETH. ETC community member /u/FaceDeer was once an editor of Wikipedia and provided a lot of professional advice on this. He suggested that the community first add ETC content to the Wikipedia page of ETH, and then call on volunteers to submit and add more information, so that ETC can have an independent page.
