Microsoft and KPMG launch blockchain innovation workshop

Technology giant Microsoft and professional services firm KPMG have announced they are launching a blockchain innovation workshop.

The latest announcement deepens that partnership, with both firms now having offices in Singapore and Frankfurt, with plans to open a third office in New York later this year.

Eamonn Maguire, head of digital ledger services at KPMG, said in a statement:

“Blockchain Nodes will play a key role in identifying new applications that blockchain can solve. They will allow us to work directly with clients to discover and test ideas based on market insights, and to create and implement prototype solutions using this innovative technology.”

The announcement also noted that companies around the world are rushing to establish blockchain research labs. For example, in the past year, professional services firm Deloitte has opened labs in Dublin and New York, while tech giant IBM has launched a "Garage" network for blockchain technology.
