Governments around the world are not ready to embrace disruptive technologies such as blockchain, according to a new report from auditing giant Deloitte. In this article "Analysis of Technology Trends in 2017 from a Government Perspective" (full text download in Biwenku), Deloitte introduced seven emerging technologies and rated their relevance to the government and the government's readiness for these technologies. Deloitte found that of the seven technologies mentioned in the report, blockchain was the least likely technology that government organizations were currently likely to adopt, and they were not ready, scoring only 1 out of 5. Deloitte told the government in its report:
The report mentioned the U.S. state of Delaware, believing that the state is the most active administrative region in researching and deploying blockchain technology.
Deloitte’s positive attitude towards blockchain is unquestionable. After all, the company has been researching the technology for many years and has carried out multiple blockchain projects. Earlier this week, Deloitte brought international auditing standards to blockchain protocols. Deloitte said the project aims to "increase the utility and trust of permissioned blockchain systems" by subjecting blockchain to professional audit and assurance standards. |
