SW soft fork upgrade implemented, Litecoin Global Roundtable Forum meeting announcement released

Today, the Litecoin community miners, mining pool representatives and related developers held a roundtable meeting on the issue of Litecoin protocol upgrade and released the "Announcement of Litecoin Global Roundtable Forum Meeting on April 21, 2017". The announcement stated that the protocol upgrade should be carried out under the consensus of the community. After voting, the participants unanimously agreed to implement the SW soft fork upgrade on LTC. The announcement emphasized that the roundtable meeting only expressed the consensus reached among the participants and could not make decisions on behalf of the LTC community.

The following is the full text of the announcement:

Announcement of the Wright Global Roundtable Forum on April 21, 2017

1. In order to eliminate misunderstandings and reach a consensus in the industry, we have established the LTC Global Roundtable. All participants have pledged to abide by the results of the collective vote of the meeting.

2. We agree that protocol upgrades should be conducted under community consensus, and there should be no unilateral actions by either the developer or the miner. We advocate making decisions on LTC protocol upgrades based on user needs through a roundtable voting process and passing them through hashrate voting.

3. We do not advocate a "UASF" with a fixed activation date without any user or community voting process, because this forced upgrade without community consensus has the risk of causing LTC to split. We condemn any illegal and violent acts such as DDoS attacks.

4. After voting, the participating members unanimously agreed to adopt the following decision on the LTC protocol upgrade:

a. Implement SW soft fork upgrade on LTC.

b. After the LTC block capacity is used up by more than 50%, we will prepare a solution to increase the block size limit by 1M through a hard fork (or soft fork).

Finally, there is one thing we would like to point out: the roundtable meeting only expresses the consensus reached among the participants and cannot make decisions on behalf of the LTC community. Our goal is to build a more harmonious community and achieve long-term healthy development, and we hope to gain the support of the majority of community members.
