Bitmain Group acquires assets of robotics company Carrot Technology to accelerate its artificial intelligence layout

On December 8, Bitmain Group, a leading artificial intelligence chip company, announced the acquisition of assets from Beijing Luobo Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Luobo Technology"), an intelligent robotics company, to create a "new species" of robotics product line and strengthen the development of the "Luo Xiaodou" series of robots.
Bitmain is a high-tech company that focuses on the design and development of high-speed, low-power custom chips. In the wave of artificial intelligence, Bitmain has actively expanded its artificial intelligence hardware and software products. In early November, it released its first tensor acceleration computing chip BM1680, which is the world's first dedicated tensor computing chip after Google TPU. Products such as the BM1680-based acceleration card SC1/SC1+ and the intelligent video analysis server SS1 have also begun mass production and shipment, and the face recognition system based on the SS1 server has begun accepting customer orders.

Founded in 2014, LuoBo Technology is an artificial intelligence company dedicated to combining the Internet, children's education and intelligent robots. It has launched a number of early childhood education robots such as Luo Xiaodou. LuoBo Technology mainly focuses on children's education scenarios. Based on its self-developed natural language processing technology, it integrates selected enlightenment knowledge, early childhood education courses, etc. into intelligent interactions based on voice and motion control. Hu Yong, former CEO of Carrot Technology and current head of Bitmain's robotics business, said that with the development of artificial intelligence technology, the market prospects for intelligent robot products are even broader. After more than three years of down-to-earth exploration, Carrot Technology has accumulated rich experience in the productization of intelligent robots and completed the initial expansion of the market. Relying on Bitmain's support in technology, capital and market, the newly unveiled "New Species" series will usher in a great opportunity for rapid development.

Bitmain CEO Zhan Ketuan said that after the acquisition, Bitmain Group will increase its R&D investment in the robotics product line. With the support of Bitmain's artificial intelligence chips and algorithm technology, the "New Species" series of intelligent robot products will be richer and more powerful.
